VMS Co.'s commitment to sustainable development goals (SDGs)
In 2015, UN Member States met and agreed on seventeen sustainable development goals (SDGs), to provide a blueprint for a better world by 2030. These were a resounding call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and improve the lives and prospects of everyone, everywhere. However, change is not about one organization or person trying to change everything, but about how each one of us changes what we can, improving on what we do today for the benefit of tomorrow.
VMS Co. is making a meaningful commitment to address four selected SDGs with its MOSS™ service, each underpinned by ambitious targets.
#7 Affordable and Clean Energy
Target – to reduce energy consumed as a percentage of revenues by 1% YOY to 2025.
Target – to increase our renewable sourced electricity by 5% by 2025.
#9 Industry, Innovation, & Infrastructure
VMS Co.’s MOSS™ service continues to be a pioneer in the refurbished hardware, Lifecycle services, and Third-Party Maintenance space, providing innovative solutions for our customer base. With MOSS™, we have taken a carbon-neutral servers and PCs service to market, alongside developing a carbon offset, reporting processes within our Lifecycle Services and ITAD division. Throughout, we have continued to enable and encourage customers to have their IT assets refurbished and resubscribed, rather than recycled or disposed of.
Target – to continue to deliver low carbon footprint solutions; by 2025 saving 2,000,000 KGs of Co2 through offering alternative solutions and switching customer buying habits to low or carbon-neutral devices.
#12 Responsible consumption and production
VMS Co.’s MOSS™ service continues to be a pioneer in the remanufactured, subscription hardware space.
Target – promoting re-use over recycle. By 2025, divert 10,000,000 Kgs of technology waste from landfill.
#13 Climate Action
VMS Co. MOSS™ service is proud to be carbon neutral; proving our commitment to taking positive Climate Action in line with the thirteenth Sustainable Development Goal.
Through the ongoing contribution toward recognized and acclaimed, carbon offset schemes, VMS Co.’s MOSS™ operations are accredited as Carbon Neutral with a net impact on the environment of zero in terms of carbon emissions. As more business is taken on and more partners worked with and for, VMS Co.’s input to the carbon offset programs will increase and the positive effects will develop and grow.
Target – for all VMS Co.’s MOSS™ operations to be Carbon Neutral, if not Carbon Positive by continuing to demonstrate our passion for sustainability and the environment within which we work.
