TakeOver an OEM Warranty

VMS Co.'s TakeOver warranty service is for OEM Manufacturer servers that are out of warranty and unsupported.

Servers typically come with a 3 or 5-year, Next Business Day (NBD) warranty. If an issue arises, customers handle the repair process using the server's service tag or reference number. VMS Co.’s TakeOver service replaces expired warranties with a responsive, Field Engineer-driven service, offering 2 to 5 additional years of warranty with far more comprehensive levels of support.

VMS Co. will audit the OEM server build using its service tag or reference information and propose a monthly cost and duration for the TakeOver. By tracking the longevity and reliability of key server components, VMS Co. can predict parts likely to fail, such as processors. From this it can manage pre-emptive repairs or full server replacements at end-of-life, ensuring maximum server up-time for customers.

At End-of-Life, VMS Co. will propose replacing the server with an equivalent one for purchase and offer its MOSS™ (Managed On Site Server) monthly maintenance subscription option. With MOSS™, VMS Co. owns, manages, maintains, and warranties servers on-site, for customer convenience, like to a locally deployed Cloud service. MOSS™ keeps costs in the Operating Expenditure budget of a business and offers many, carbon offset incentives.

Regardless of the chosen option, ensuring server uptime is a top priority for VMS Co. We strive to manage a seamless transition to the replacement server with minimal disruption.”

If VMS Co. takes over the maintenance of a server bought from another supplier, that server remains the property of the customer, but is warrantied by VMS Co. thereafter.
