Introducing MOSS™ Managed On Site Servers

VIDEO MANAGEMENT SERVERS (VMS Co.), suppliers of affordable, value-engineered, video management and analytics servers, has launched its MOSS™ (Managed On Site Servers) service. MOSS™ is a unique, maintenance service, whereby VMS Co. deploys servers on site but owns, manages, maintains and warranties them throughout their life, within a monthly subscription fee.

Nick Bowden, Director of VMS Co., explained, “VMS Co.’s MOSS™ service provides managed servers, warranties, comprehensive technical support, and mid-term upgrade capability, just like Cloud servers, but on-site instead. However, video streaming, storage and broadband costs are much lower, because the server is local, and any dependence on unreliable broadband or WAN networks, the problem with many Cloud CCTV installations, are eliminated.

“The MOSS™ subscription is classed as a maintenance fee and falls within the operational expenditure budget of a business. This makes it much more attractive to accountants than a lease and significantly cheaper. The servers are delivered as part of this maintenance service, like a router within a broadband package, and come with a minimum of 5 years, Next Business Day warranty. Four-hour SLAs for mission-critical applications are also available, through to 24 hours or 3 days where cost saving is key, enabled by our processing facilities and field-engineers, based in Cirencester, Warrington and Galway.”
